Street Fighter V Cinematic Story DLC Coming in June

It looks like NeverRealm Studio’s approach to single player modes in fighting games is starting to rub off on other developers. Capcom just shared with us today that the upcoming Street Fighter V will include two story modes. The first one will be told in a series of graphic novel styled slideshows of artwork created by Japanese artist Bengus, which will be included at launch on February 16th. The second will be a cinematic story mode similar to Mortal Kombat X that will tell a story through actual in-game cutscenes and will launch as free DLC in June. Since the Street Fighter series has always been criticized for barebones single player offerings, this is nice to see Capcom put the effort into a more meaty campaign for those who want it. Unfortunately we won’t be able to play this cinematic mode until June but at least it’s coming and it’s free, right?

Check out the trailer below. Pretty impressive!
