About Us

The Gaming Outsider is a community driven video game podcast that aims to discuss gaming in a positive light. Going in with the philosophy that “there are no bad games, only games that aren’t for you”, hosts Scott Clark from The Hollywood Outsider podcast, TooBusyGaming.com’s Josh Faulkner, veteran gamer dad Zach Anderson and super-gamer Robby Steltenpohl set out to engage in discussions that avoid trashing developers and publishers while also avoiding the politics and controversies surrounding the industry. Our focus is strictly on the games and the team realizes that not every gamer has the same opinions on each game released and hope to represent a wide variety of tastes.

Meet the team:

Scott Clark – @scottielindsay

Scott has been a fan of pushing buttons since he was old enough to climb up to his father’s stereo as a toddler.  His first console was the Atari 2600 back in the early 80’s, and his passion for the hobby shines through his excitement and wish to share his experiences with anyone who will listen.  Scott began his podcasting career with “The Official Thread Podcast”, which was dedicated to news, impressions, and general topics about the subject of video games.  That coupled with over four years of experience with “The Hollywood Outsider Podcast” has given him the reputation of being the “every man”, in that he gets along with almost everyone he interacts and also doesn’t speak down to his audience.

Scott’s newest venture, which he started with his partner-in-crime Josh Faulkner, is “The Gaming Outsider”.  He was tired of the constant negativity and politics associated with so many other shows that he listened to, when all he wanted was to talk about the games and how much fun he was having with them. Scott is also responsible for the show’s tagline, as he’s a firm believer that just because a game isn’t made specifically for you doesn’t mean that it’s a bad game.

Josh Faulkner – @FaintDeftone

Josh is a native Ohio-an who grew up in a small town that had very little for kids to do. As a result, Josh picked up video games at a very young age.  Video games played a huge part in his childhood and continued to do so in his adult life. Starting out on an Atari 2600 when he was 3 years old, gaming has sort of grown up alongside with Josh and continues to be his biggest hobby. As an IT technician by day, Josh is an aspiring gaming writer by night who founded a few websites including 16 Bit Heroes and Too Busy Gaming, while also dabbling in retro gaming YouTube videos and live streaming events.

Teaming up with Scott Clark and Zach Anderson, Josh helped form The Gaming Outsider with huge ambitions and hopes of creating something special that gaming fans will love. Josh’s hobbies include gaming, film, music, art and technology.

Mike, I just now saw this comment. All this time, I had no idea you were Maggie’s husband. Wow, totally small world. Thanks for listening, and sorry it took me so long to respond.
