Retro Reminisce – Episode 022: “Bubsy: Claws Encounters of the Fur Kind”

This week on Retro Reminisce, we dig out one of Justin’s favorite 16bit platformers — Busby: Claws Encounters of the Fur Kind — for the Super Nintendo, Genesis, Jaguar and Windows PC. Created by the now defunct Accolade studio, Bubsy was set out to be the next big character platformer that would blow the likes of Sonic and Mario out of the competition. Was Bubsy worthy of competing with the platforming heavy hitters or was it nothing but a poor attempt at cashing in on some other game’s success? Listen and find out! We’ll see how well the game holds up 22 years later and take a look at some current pricing trends in case our listeners would like to check it out for themselves. Grab the episode now via iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play Music, TuneIn and more. Thanks and enjoy the show!
