Retro Reminisce has come to an end

After six months of creating a fun and rewarding retro gaming podcast with my good friend Justin Wilson while having a blast doing it, I am regretful to announce that we will be putting the Retro Reminisce podcast on hiatus for the unforeseeable future.

Going into this whole venture, the two of us were aware that this premise for a podcast would be niche. The amount of money and work we put into the show each week is significant compared to the amount of listeners and reception we receive for each episode. While we have had nothing but positive feedback on Retro Reminisce, our listener numbers haven’t grown to the amount we need to justify continuing to pump time and money into the show.

Next year, Justin and I may come back and restructure Retro Reminisce and give it another shot. In the meantime, we will be taking those resources to make The Gaming Outsider a bigger and better podcast. I will begin archiving our Retro Reminisce episodes on our website since the RSS feed will cease to function in podcast services such as iTunes; this way anyone can still listen to them it they would like. This won’t be the last you’ll hear from Justin, though. We’ll continue to incorporate him into The Gaming Outsider as a special guest and add his presence in special episodes.

I want to thank everyone who listened to Retro Reminisce on a weekly basis and gave us such positive feedback. We had a nice little dedicated group of folks listening to us each week and we appreciate the support you’ve given us. Hopefully we’ll be back to tackle this again and try to deliver a retro gaming podcast with a more mass appeal in the near future.
