Dan & Gary Games make their grand debut today with Super Daryl Deluxe. It combines the mechanics of an RPG with the exploration of metroidvania games. It should make for an interesting new gameplay dynamic.

Daryl and his mullet attend the bizarre Water Falls High School, which is more unusual than your typical educational facility. Every class lies on the other end of a transdimensional portal. People learn quicker when traveling to new worlds based on their class subjects, haven’t you heard? No worries though, it’s not dangerous, outside of all the students disappearing. Though there is the pesky situation of the principal shutting himself in his office.

Promising 45 powers, RPG customization, and side quests; Super Daryl Deluxe looks like it could be some fun. The boss fights, in particular, stand out as flashy and bombastic. It has a unique style that should appeal to fans of the zany, bizarre, or weird.
