E3 2017: Bethesda Press Conference Recap

Bethesda has made quite a name for themselves; such a big name in fact that they’ve got their own showcase at E3 alongside the big names like Microsoft and Sony. This year’s press conference was full of new games and information. Here’s your recap of what we saw there.

The publisher started the show by recapping some of their current titles before diving into the world of virtual reality. In a surprise move, Bethesda unveiled “Doom VFR”, which is exactly what it sounds. While it doesn’t sound like the entire game is playable in VR, it still looks like an incredible experience.

We already knew that Fallout 4 was also coming to VR, but now we know that the entire game will be playable in virtual reality. Here’s the trailer from the press conference.

We also saw a glimpse of new content for “Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel”, which is available NOW.

Bethesda also unveiled “Creation Club”, which is a collection of new game content for Skyrim and Fallout 4. This includes new weapons, armor, outfits, crafting and gameplay enhancements. You use credits to download new content, which includes community creators. All content will be compatible with save games and achievements, and will be coming this summer for all consoles and PC.

At last year’s press conference from Bethesda, we were teased about a card battle game based on “The Elder Scrolls Legends: Heroes of Skyrim”. We were given a better look this time around with a sparkling new trailer for the game, which releases on June 27th, 2017.

Back when the Nintendo Switch was announced, we saw a tease for Skyrim on the mobile device. There were questions as to whether or not this was actually happening, but now we know for sure. Bethesda unveiled a new trailer for Skyrim, which includes Link from The Legend of Zelda as a playable character. The video shows motion-controlled aiming as well.

“Dishonored 2” was a huge hit last year, and we were introduced to some new DLC for that game called, “Death of the Outsider”, which releases on September 15th of this year.

“Quake Champions World Championship” received a new announcement trailer, a competitive championship for the game that takes place on August 26th, 2017 at QuakeCon in Dallas, Texas with a $1,000,000 prize pool. Bethesda is touting Quake as the birth of eSports. B.J. Blazkowicz was also unveiled as a new playable character.

Friday the 13th of this year, which happens to take place in Octover, marks the release of the hotly anticipated sequel, “The Evil Within 2”. The trailer looks wicked and creepy in all the right ways.

Bethesda closed their press conference with a trailer for “Wolfenstein II: the New Colossus”. This time around, the battle takes place in a Nazi-occupied United States, and B.J. Blazkowicz returns as everyone’s favorite Nazi killer. This time around, B.J. is leading a revolution to win back his homeland from his enemies, alongside a new team. The game releases on October 27th, 2017.

And that’s it from Bethesda this year.
