Rock River Valley Video Game Convention (R2V2) Registration

R2V2 Is BACK!

For the second time, The Gaming Outsider is hosting a video game convention on Saturday, October 14th at The Lyran Society (1115 4th Avenue in Rockford, Illinois). The Rock River Valley Video Game Convention is a celebration of video games. “R2V2” offers a community event for avid gamers. Families can find games at reasonable prices, experience rare/expensive games and consoles, play virtual reality titles, and meet video game celebrities.

Tickets for R2V2 will be $10.00 for children under 12 years old and $20.00 for adults on the day of the event.

Video Games Available for Purchase

R2V2 features a multitude of vendor tables, which will have video games and consoles from all generations available for sale. Whether you’re a collector or just looking for that classic game from your childhood, there’s a good chance you’ll find it at our event.

R2V2 Special Guest

PLEASE NOTE: Your entry ticket will grant you access to meet our special guests in person. Autographs, selfies, video recordings, voice mails, etc. will be an extra charge with all proceeds going to the talent.

Voice Actor Jon St. John

Best known as the voice of the first famous FPS – Duke Nukem, over his 45-year broadcast and voice-acting career Jon has provided voice-overs for countless commercial, infomercial, multi-media, and video game projects. Jon is heard on games such as: World of Warcraft, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Sonic Adventure, Counterstrike: GO, DoTA 2, Star Trek: Online, Rad Rogers, POSTAL4: No Regerts, and ION FURY to name just a few.

An honored guest at conventions, Jon is one actor who really enjoys meeting his fans and looks forward to every opportunity to spend time with them.

Play Rare Games and Consoles

Chris Behrensmeyer from The Gaming Outsider is an avid collector of video games. He currently has over 7,000 games in his collection, which include several rare and expensive titles. Chris will have a portion of his collection available to play at R2V2. This is a great chance to play hard-to-find titles like Little Samson (NES) and many more! He’s even putting his Galaga arcade cabinet on display for anyone to play.

Give VR a Try

The Gaming Outsider will have two virtual reality stations on-hand at R2V2 this year. If you’ve never had a chance to try PlayStation VR or Meta Quest, now is your chance. Games available will include Beat Saber, Vader Immortal, Astrobot Rescue Mission, and many more!
