Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata passed away
The crew at The Gaming Outsider are incredibly saddened to inform you all that Satoru Iwata, the president of Nintendo Co. Ltd, has passed away today at the age of 55. Iwata was battling cancer caused by a tumor located on his bile duct. Even though he took E3 off in 2014 to focus on recovering from surgery, Iwata returned to work in October to help kick off the holiday season and appeared to be doing great. While we all thought Iwata was doing better, it seems that his battle took a turn for the worst this weekend. Our hearts go out to Iwata’s family and friends. As Nintendo fans, this was definitely disheartening news. Iwata played a huge part in Nintendo’s history and helped deliver excellent games such as Kirby’s Dreamland and Super Smash Bros. before he became president.
You will be missed.
