Happy Windows 10 Day! What does this mean for gamers?

Today is the day that Microsoft releases Windows 10, their next generation operating system, to all desktops and tablets running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 free of charge. Windows 10 includes some big enhancements including an all new desktop design, revamped tablet controls and the most welcome addition — the return of the start menu! What does this mean for gamers exactly? Quite a bit actually.

DirectX 12 releases alongside Windows 10 which enhances the way games are rendered and played on PCs, promising to enhance your current and future hardware thus making PC gaming much smoother and easier. Full fledged PC games can now be purchased through the Windows Store app too. The one big addition that gamers will love is the newly enhanced Xbox app that adds the Xbox One’s GameDVR, live streaming and screenshot features to any PC powerful enough to handle it. Possibly the coolest new feature to the Xbox app is the capability to stream Xbox One games straight to your PC or tablet, giving Xbox One owners the remote play functionality that Playstation fans have been enjoying for awhile now.
