Microsoft’s Xbox Gamescom event breakdown
Did you miss Microsoft’s Xbox media presentation today at Gamescom in Germany? We got you covered. Here is a breakdown of the majority of the exciting things announced at this year’s show. Microsoft held back some content from E3 in order to show us something cool at Gamescom and they certainly had a couple of interesting announcements.
First off, we got new gameplay trailers from a few exciting games coming to the Xbox One in 2016.
Quantum Break
Crackdown 3
Scalebound
Homefront: The Revelution
At the end of the show we got a surprise announcement for Halo Wars 2, Microsoft’s RTS series that takes place in the Halo universe. The game is developed by Sega’s Creative Assembly studio and releases on Xbox One and Windows 10 next year.
We also received some gameplay trailers for games releasing soon this year, like Rainbow Six: Siege, Halo 5: Guardians, Just Cause 3, and Forza Motorspots 6. Microsoft also showed some trailers based on some indie partnerships they have as well. All of those trailers can be viewed by clicking here.
Killer Instinct is getting a third season in March of 2016 including all-new characters and stages. One of these characters will be one of the Battletoads himself — Rash. The character is available right now for Killer Instinct players who have purchased any content for the game in the past or if you’re an owner of a fresh new copy of Rare Replay. More information can be found by visiting the FAQ here.
Microsoft also showed off a brand new chatpad accessory similar to the one found on the Xbox 360. The chatpad will attach to the bottom of your Xbox One controller, includes a full backlit QWERTY keyboard, and sports some shortcut buttons for special functionality such as screenshots.
That’s about all of the big stuff, really. Head over to our Facebook community group to chat with us about today’s Microsoft announcements.
