Shadow Complex and Gears of War come to Xbox One backwards compatibility
Microsoft’s Larry Hyrb (Major Nelson) made a nice little pre-Gamescom announcement last night via Twitter regarding their backwards compatibility feature coming to the Xbox One this fall. Two Xbox 360 titles from Epic Games have been added to the list of compatible games — Shadow Complex and the original Gears of War. Xbox One dashboard preview members can try both games out now if they previously owned them on the Xbox One.
Shadow Complex is a huge win for this service. The Metroidvania-styled sidescroller developed by Chair Entertainment was a huge fan favorite on Microsoft’s last generation console. I was able to try the game out last night and noticed some framerate issues, but the feature is still being tested so I’m sure Microsoft will work out the kinks by the time backwards compatibility officially launches later this year.
