Canned Star Wars 1313 game may not be dead after all
In a recent interview with Lucas Film president and Star Wars brand manager Kathleen Kennedy, the highly anticipated but quickly cancelled Star Wars adventure game titled Star Wars 1313 was mentioned by Kennedy as a possible project that may be revived in the near future. The game was announced at E3 in 2012 and was quickly canned a year later after Disney purchased the Star Wars franchise from George Lucas.
So our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to.
Gamers began to sweat since Disney seemed to be dialing back on their game design divisions, but luckily Star Wars Battlefront proved that they still care about gamers. The fact that Kennedy mentioned the game without being asked about it is a pretty good sign that this project may see the light of day after all. Keep your fingers crossed, folks!
