Rock Band 4 to receive all online play and expansion later this year

Harmonix has seemed to struggle with Rock Band 4, their latest entry in the once popular rhythm music franchise, since its release last year. The game was plagued with calibration issues, stock issues, music import issues, instrument issues, ect. Fans were quick to dismiss the game due to all of the issues combined with the lack of plentiful content found in the previous entries, including head scratchers such as the omission of practice mode and online play. Not to mention the PC version of Rock Band 4 failed to meet its goal in a crowdfunding attempt. Well despite the negativity, Harmonix seems to be hard at work at attempting to correct the issues plaguing Rock Band 4 as announced during their latest PAX conference and in a official blog entry.

This weekend, Harmonix announced a plethora of new features headed to Rock Band 4 as an expansion pack coming this Fall. One new feature will be the triumphant return of synchronous online multiplayer, while another big feature has yet to be announced and will apparently be something brand new to the series. Harmonix will also be adding Battleborn DLC characters and dual kick pedal support in May, a practice mode being added back into the game in June, and other features such as Ion drum support on Xbox One and music library enhancements coming later this year. All of these features are much needed and will hopefully redeem Rock Band 4’s poor reception and release snafus.
