Standalone Expansion for RoboCop: Rogue City Announced During Nacon Direct
Publisher Nacon announced during their March 6th livestream Direct Event that a new standalone expansion to RoboCop: Rogue City, titled Unfinished Business, will be releasing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later this summer. This expansion will once again be led by Polish developer Teyon. Previously known for creating video games based on other action franchises of the 1980s, such as Rambo and Terminator, RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business continues Teyon’s legacy of bringing iconic action heroes of that era to life, offering fresh gameplay and new storylines.
Your Move, Creep!
Following the events after RoboCop: Rogue City, the main villain, “The New Guy in Town”, is defeated, but the streets of Old Detroit remain riddled with crime. However, a beacon of hope comes in the form of OCP’s latest project: OmniTower – a massive housing superstructure designed to meet the needs of the city’s residents. But when a highly trained group of mercenaries, armed with the latest cutting edge weapons take control of the tower and turn it into a fortress, it’s up to RoboCop to take action and foil their plans to undermine law and order.
Battle high tech threats inside OmniTower, from flying drones and explosive bots, to elite troops and jetpack forces. Every floor is packed with traps and danger. Use RoboCop’s vast arsenal including his iconic Auto-9 pistol, plus the all new Cryo-Cannon, Now you can literally tell crooks to ‘freeze’. Unleash RoboCop’s unmatched brute strength to deliver devastating finishing moves, whether smashing an enemy’s skull through a concrete wall or slamming them into the nearest vending machine.
PLAY AS ALEX MURPHY
Before becoming RoboCop, Alex Murphy was just an ordinary police officer; brave, resolute, and perhaps a little too vulnerable on the streets of Old Detroit. Discover a different side of the legendary law enforcer, once again voiced by Peter Weller.
My Thoughts
The setting of this expansion inside a massive super-tall skyscraper immediately brings to mind comparisons to 2012’s Dredd reboot film, or perhaps the martial arts action classic The Raid. You can expect to see the same level of intense action and gore as found in the base game and in the films themselves. As a long time RoboCop fan, this is incredibly exciting. Having the privilege of writing the review for the base game (which I named it my 2023 Game of the Year), I’m absolutely chomping at the bit to step once again into the metallic shoes of RoboCop. If you have yet to play this awesome FPS, it is currently on sale on Steam for only $9.99 USD. “Dead or Alive, You’re Coming With Me!”
