Planetsmith | PC Early Access Review
I have been following Planetsmith for a while now and holding out on this review until the full game releases. Unfortunately, I do not know when that is going to be with the last update from Incandescent Games being Mid December.
As of right now, though, I have spent a few hours in the game making a few small things with the limited supply of items they have afforded us in the demo. The game we have right now is very rudimentary and resembles a very early Minecraft. Although the game promises a multitude of additions such as survival, crafting, hidden secrets, and space travel, none of these elements are in the demo.
One great thing I can say about this game is the use of a round map with “blocks”. After some testing and confusion, I found out the blocks themselves change size and shape the further off the map you go, allowing for the planet to be different sizes and yet, the same number of blocks.
Hopefully, Incandescent Games continues to improve and implement everything they hope to in this game. I will continue to follow up and will be waiting patiently for a more completed product so I can write a better review.
