Wall World 2, a Roguelite Tower Defense Adventure, Unveiled During Humble Games Showcase

Alawar has officially unveiled Wall World 2, the next installment in the Wall World series, during the Humble Games Showcase. Developed and published by Alawar, the game is set to launch on PC later this year.

Building on its predecessor, Wall World 2 blends tower defense, mining, and roguelite mechanics, taking players on a journey through an endless vertical wall. As the pilot of a robospider tank, players must explore procedurally generated mines, gather resources, and defend against relentless waves of enemies.

The sequel introduces expanded features, including a deeper narrative, enhanced progression systems, new monster types, and special tile anomalies with unique effects. Players can upgrade their robospider with different mobility options like tank treads, discover new biomes, unlock advanced technologies, and interact with characters in Sphere City, the central hub. With upgraded exosuits, new weapons, and fresh challenges, Wall World 2 offers an even more immersive and dynamic adventure.

What We Can Expect

  • Mining & Exploration: Delve into procedurally generated tunnels across the massive Wall, uncovering long-lost technologies and artifacts.
  • Roguelite Progression: Upgrade your mining tools, robospider, and exosuit’s weapons between runs and customize your spider tank to suit your playstyle.
  • Dynamic Combat: Defend against hordes of relentless enemies, both on the surface of the Wall and within its depths, using an upgradable arsenal of weapons and abilities.
  • Living World: Experience an ever-changing environment filled with biomes, resources, anomalies, and other surprises as you carve your path through the Wall.
  • Customize & Upgrade: Enhance your robospider’s mobility, weapons, and exosuit between expeditions. Whether it’s improving your legs for speed or outfitting your arsenal, the upgrades are endless.

My Thoughts

Graphics that remind me of Children of Morta, and it’s a roguelike? Shut up and take my money. I didn’t play the original Wall World, but I’ll see if I can find it. I want to be ready for the sequel. The mention of a “deeper narrative” for Wall World 2 tells me this one is going to tell an intriguing story. Check out the trailer below!
