Nova Game Expo Revolutionizes Online Gaming Conventions

Nova Game Expo is redefining what a gaming convention can be with its cutting-edge, fully remote format. Designed to be accessible, eco-friendly, and easy to attend, the event brought the energy of a physical expo hall into an immersive 3D online environment. From roaming interactive, themed booths to engaging with AI avatars representing developers, Nova Game Expo offers a unique, user-friendly way to experience gaming conventions.

One of the standout features was the ability to play PC and console games instantly, without downloading or waiting. This streamlined process made it easy to dive into new titles, as if the games themselves were ready and waiting in a virtual library. I tried this using a Windows PC, Macbook, Linux laptop and a Chromebook. All worked flawlessly each time. No matter what your device you are able to experience the convention.

During my visit to Nova Game Expo, I explored three fascinating games:

Striving for Light

This roguelike ARPG was incredibly easy to pick up, with an intuitive system of cool skill trees and multiple classes to choose from. The gameplay felt like a seamless blend of Gauntlet and Diablo, offering both nostalgia and innovation.

Footage

This is a terrifying jump scare roguelike played in first-person view. With various ghost types to encounter and items to collect and use, every corner held a spine-chilling surprise that kept me on edge.

Nexus FPV

An exhilarating FPV drone simulator combining a real physics simulation engine with arcade-style elements. Practicing real FPV drone skills was made even more exciting with features like guns and missiles to spice up the gameplay.

Nova Game Expo truly highlights how online conventions can deliver innovation, inclusivity, and excitement without the constraints of a physical venue. It’s an event that any gamer, casual or hardcore, would appreciate.
