Sintopia First Gameplay Trailer and Demo Reveal
A new gameplay trailer for Sintopia has been unveiled, offering a glimpse into the game’s unique mechanics. Players will manage waves of sentient, Hell-bound Humus—damned for their sins or simply for their absurd actions in the Overworld. To familiarize themselves with the fiery bureaucracy of Hell, players can try out the first Sintopia demo, available now as part of the City Builder & Colony Sim Fest on Steam. The demo, currently in pre-alpha, includes all content developed so far, allowing players to explore both the Overworld and Hell.
Developed by Piraknights Games and published by Team17 Digital, Sintopia blends elements of a builder and god game with an asymmetrical gameplay loop. In the Overworld, a civilization of whimsical chickpea-like beings unwittingly doom themselves through various sinful acts. As the ruler of Hell, players must manage these condemned souls, maintain financial records, and generate profit to expand and sustain their infernal domain. Sintopia is set to release on PC via Steam, with more details expected as development progresses.
What We Can Expect
- Be A Big Bad Boss: Being the administrator of Hell comes with many perks. Some of these include the ability to wield administrative magic to influence the world above you.
- Hell Your Way: Mold the caves of Hell to your own deepest and darkest desires. Yes there will be paperwork but one of the Imployees you hire will take care of it. You need more time to live out your hellish architect fantasies.
- Seven Deadly Sins: Make sure your souls go through an effective “re-education” to avoid a buildup of their Sins across many lives… no one wants to face the demonic invasion that will inevitably result from having too much corruption in the world.
My Thoughts
At first, I thought Sintopia was a city builder. But wait! The beings in the alive-world are morons, sinning morons. You can eliminate them and then they get taken to Hell. And then the game becomes like Zoo Tycoon or the original Theme Park, except it’s in Hell? Okay, I’m intrigued. I’m going to have to try it out. Looks hilarious, too! Check out the trailer below!
