‘Split Fiction’ Break Three World Records

It turns out that people really like Split Fiction from Hazelight Studios. I can’t say that I blame them after playing it with our producer and reviewing it earlier last month. The game truly is something special.

But the co-op adventure made video game history this month, breaking not one, but three Guiness World Records. Check out the details below.

  • Most Played Local Co-Op Video Game on Steam
  • Most Sold Local Co-Op Video Game Within 48 Hours of Release
  • Most Sold Local Co-Op Video Game Within One Week of Release

Congrats goes to Hazelight for reaching such an impressive feat. If that’s not enough, the game has surpassed two million copies sold, and as of this writing, it hasn’t even been out for a full month. This is particularly noteworthy considering only half of the players truly needed to buy a copy of the game. Thanks to the “Friend’s Pass” system, only one player is required to purchase, and the other can more or less piggy back off of the main player’s purchase to play.

If you haven’t had a chance to play Split Fiction yet, you’re doing yourself a disservice. Watch the trailer below for a refresher on this title.
