Bungie’s Marathon Gameplay Reveal Infilling Saturday, April 12
Marathon, an upcoming team-based extraction shooter developed and published by Bungie, is set to mark the studio’s first completely new project in over a decade. Known for creating Halo and Destiny, Bungie is returning with this ambitious title set on the mysterious planet Tau Ceti IV, where players assume the roles of “Runners”—cybernetic mercenaries navigating a hostile environment in search of loot, weapons, and gear left behind by a vanished colony.
When and Where?
The gameplay reveal for Marathon will take place on Saturday, April 12 at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 6 PM BST / 7 PM CEST / 9 PM GST, or Sunday, April 13 at 2 AM JST / 3 AM AEST / 5 PM NZST. The showcase will premiere on Twitch, along with streams on YouTube and TikTok.
Marathon will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Players can wishlist the game now on their preferred platform and follow updates via the official Marathon accounts on Discord, Twitter/X, Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, and TikTok.
My Thoughts
I have no idea what to expect based on the Save the Date trailer (below). The electronic cat snuggling up as the character’s blue blood trickles down the stream was intriguing. Regardless, it’s Bungie! I’m definitely tuning in to hear what they have to say. Mark your calendars for the upcoming Marathon gameplay reveal event.
