Split Fiction Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on Launch Day
Hazelight Studios and EA Originals have announced that their acclaimed co-op action-platformer Split Fiction is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 as a launch title on June 5, 2025, with pre-orders opening April 24 for $49.99. Developed by Hazelight—the studio behind It Takes Two—and published by EA Originals, Split Fiction blends sci-fi and fantasy in a fast-paced, story-driven co-op adventure.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will introduce two new features designed to enhance the multiplayer experience: GameShare and GameChat. GameShare allows two players to connect via local wireless using just one copy of the game, even enabling cross-generation play between Switch 2 and original Nintendo Switch consoles. GameChat uses the console’s built-in microphone and optional USB cameras to support live voice and video chat, with camera feeds integrated into the in-game UI.
Split Fiction is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app, also priced at $49.99. Players can invite a friend to join them for free using the Friend’s Pass, which supports cross-platform play.
More insights, including a behind-the-scenes look with Hazelight founder Josef Fares and COO Oskar Wolontis, can be found in a new Creator’s Voice interview on the EA blog.
