Slain 2: The Beast Within is an upcoming action-packed, blood-soaked pixel-art platformer developed by Steel Mantis and published by Silver Lining Interactive. Set to release in 2025 for PC via Steam, this sequel builds upon the cult hit Slain: Back From Hell, plunging players back into a gothic world of brutal combat and dark fantasy.

Players will step into the role of Prince Akran, the last of the Wolf Knights, who draws power from the feral force within. Wielding the sentient sword Bathoryn, Akran must cut a path through nightmarish creatures and face off against the demonic corruption of Lord Vroll that has spread across the galaxy. The night is unending, the hunger never ceases, and only steel and fire can cleanse the infected lands.

Slain 2: The Beast Within invites players to embrace the fury of the full moon and stand against the darkness—coming to Steam in 2025.

My Thoughts

Fans of 2D side-scrolling platformers, rejoice, especially if you have a soft spot for that classic look and feel. Slain 2: The Beast Within promises intense action, excitement, and a fresh challenge for gamers around the world. With the strong Castlevania vibes it’s giving off, I can’t help but wonder: could Slain 2 be gear-gated this time around? The original game wasn’t, but I guess we’ll find out!
