Antstream Arcade Launches ‘Retro Classics’ on Xbox GamePass
Antstream Arcade has officially partnered with Xbox to launch Retro Classics, a curated collection of over 50 vintage games now available to Xbox Game Pass members worldwide. This collaboration—powered by legendary IPs from Activision and Blizzard—delivers some of the most iconic titles from the golden age of gaming, including Pitfall!, Kaboom!, Commando, and MechWarrior 2.
Retro Recharged
Accessible via Xbox consoles, the Xbox app on PC, and streaming on supported LG and Samsung Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices, and Meta Quest headsets, Retro Classics isn’t just a nostalgia trip—it’s a full-on modernization effort. Features like cloud saves, global leaderboards, challenge modes, and even multiplayer tournaments breathe new life into these classic experiences.
Not Just a Port, But a Platform
Unlike standard emulation dumps, Retro Classics functions more like a spiritual cousin to Atari 50, presenting these games with polish, historical reverence, and community-driven features. Microsoft has hinted that the library could expand to over 100 titles in the near future, making this a potentially massive archival project.
And for retro enthusiasts who want even more, Game Pass members can score a special offer: a full Antstream Arcade subscription (with access to 1,300+ games) for just $9.99 if claimed before June 4.
My Thoughts
I just downloaded Retro Classics on my Xbox Series X, thanks to Game Pass, and I’ve got to say—the UI and library layout immediately reminded me of Atari 50. It’s slick, intuitive, and perfect for browsing retro gems. After sampling this collection, I’m seriously considering an Antstream Arcade subscription too. With over 1,300 additional games on offer, it’s a tempting proposition. The retro enthusiast in me is more than pleased.
