Military Incremental Complex Brings Capitalist Mayhem to Steam

Military Incremental Complex, from indie outfit Space Kraken Studios, takes a satirical look at the arms trade. It places players at the helm of a growing arms empire fueled by idle mechanics and capitalist ambition. Starting with the manual assembly of bullets, players scale their operations into a sprawling war machine by expanding production, influencing government policy, and even manipulating the stock market. It’s a darkly comedic take on profit-driven warfare, delivered through the deceptively simple lens of an incremental idle game.

Lord of War

Military Incremental Complex is an idle/incremental game where players build and manage a powerful arms manufacturing empire. Starting from humble beginnings, you’ll produce weapons, automate factories, dive into the supply chain, and climb the capitalist ladder—eventually lobbying the government to keep profits booming. It aims to be both a mechanically engaging clicker and a tongue-in-cheek satire of the military-industrial complex.

My Thoughts

I’ve always had a thing for movies and shows that shine a light on the arms industry. Films like Lord of War or Charlie Wilson’s War are great examples that really lean into the shady, over-the-top nature of it all. So when I saw Military Incremental Complex, I was instantly intrigued. The idea of turning something as dark and complex as weapons manufacturing into a satirical idle game is just wild in the best way. It’s clever, it’s cynical, and it totally speaks to my taste in this kind of subject matter. I also dig the game’s presentation, that the whole thing looks like you’re running a black-market weapons empire on a crusty old Windows 95 PC, adding to the satirical nature.
