Everything We Saw at the Xbox Games Showcase | June 8th, 2025
Microsoft streamed their latest showcase for “Not E3 season”. Not only did we get a lot of release dates for games of which we were already aware, we had a ton of new surprises as well. Here’s a breakdown of everything shown during the event, in case you didn’t get to watch it live. We’ve included all of the trailers from the Xbox Games Showcase as well so you can skim through and watch what you’re interested in. We hope you find it helpful.
Let’s get on with the announcements!
Outer Worlds 2
This sequel is big enough to warrant its own Direct right after the Xbox Games Showcase. The humor-infused open-world RPG from Obsidian releases on Xbox Series S/X, PS5 & PC October 29th.
High on Life 2
There might have been gamers who had High on Life getting a sequel on their BINGO card, but I certainly wasn’t one of them. High on Life 2 releases on Xbox Series S/X, PS5 & PC this winter.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
Another surprise (despite the leak) was a spinoff game in the “Plague Tale” universe. Look for this title on Xbox Series S/X, PS5 & PC in 2026.
ROG Xbox Ally/Ally X
The rumors were true! Although the device isn’t made by Microsoft themselves, the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X will allow players to play any games from their Xbox or Windows PC games via Microsoft on a portable device. We’re still waiting for specs on these devices as well as a release date, but this is very exciting news for Xbox fans nonetheless.

The newest game from developer Dontnod has a sci-fi theme. It follows two astronauts who crash land on a planet. The game is also made in partnership with The European Space Agency.
No Ghosts at the Grand
On the surface, this game looks like a hotel renovation game, but it seems to have a bit more going on in the story department. It’s coming to Xbox Series S/X and PC in 2026.
Age of Mythology Retold: Heavenly Spear
The real-time strategy game, Age of Mythology Retold, has additional content coming to Xbox Series S/X, PS5 & Steam. Look for “Heavenly Spear” this fall.

Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf

Fallout 76: Gone Fission
Before the Xbox Games Showcase began, we were treated to some survivors of the Fallout Wasteland calmly fishing on the banks of a lake. Turns out this was a teaser for some extra content for Fallout 76 called “Gone Fission”. You can play this new update and reel in some contaminated fish right now.

We already knew about Gears of War Reloaded, but this new trailer really shows off just how gorgeous this remake is going to be. It also reminded us about a lot of its features, including cross-play support with platforms that don’t have the Xbox logo on them. It’s coming August 26th.
Persona 4 Revival
This was very much a teaser trailer. You can see the short trailer below that more or less just tells us that Persona 4 Revival is coming.

Keeper
Double Fine has a new game called Keeper, and it’s coming to Xbox Series S/X, PS5 & Steam on October 17th. In this charming-looking title, you play as a weathered lighthouse. It will also be available on Game Pass on day one.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
Xbox closed its showcase with a game that I had no clue was a Call of Duty game until the final title card flashed on the screen. The latest entry in the popular military shooter looks to be going back to the futuristic route with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 from Treyarch and Raven Software. It also stars Milo Ventimiglia, Kiernan Shipka and Michael Rooker. No official release date was given.
My Thoughts
Most people know of my love for Xbox, so anything I say that’s positive with this stream might be taken with a grain of salt. With that said, there seemed to be a little bit for everybody, and Microsoft seems to be doing everything that they can to get back on top of the console gaming space. The ROG Xbox Ally was a huge highlight for me, but I was most impressed with Clockwork Revolution. I was very impressed with the entire presentation, as it gave me a lot to look forward to on my favorite console platform.
What did you think? Is there a chance for Xbox to reign supreme once again in the future?
