Dying Light: The Beast Sprints onto PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S Aug. 22

Dying Light: The Beast, developed and published by Techland, is the next evolution in the survival horror franchise, set to release on August 22th, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store). Announced during Summer Game Fest, this new chapter places players back in the shoes of Kyle Crane, who escapes after ten years of harrowing experiments. Now part-human, part-zombie, he must master his new abilities and confront the monstrous Baron who transformed him.

Set in the hauntingly beautiful Castor Woods, a former tourist haven turned nightmare, The Beast blends brutal combat, open-world traversal, and day-night survival into a tense, fast-paced experience. Players can team up in 4-player co-op to explore, fight, and survive together. Pre-orders start at $59.99 and include the Hero of Harran Bundle, which features exclusive in-game content and nostalgic nods to earlier entries in the series.

My Thoughts

It’s Dying Light on current-gen consoles! Parkour! Zombies! Adventure with an in-depth story! The graphics and gameplay shown in the Summer Game Fest trailer put Dying Light: The Beast near the top of my most-anticipated list (though I’ll admit, the time-to-beat for Dying Light 2 was a bit overwhelming). I’m a more experienced gamer now, and I think I could really sink my teeth into this one.
