Focus’ “MIO: Memories in Orbit” Drops Summer Game Fest Trailer & PC Demo

Revealed during Summer Game Fest 2025, MIO: Memories in Orbit is an upcoming sci-fi Metroidvania from developer Douze Dixièmes and publisher Focus Entertainment. Set aboard a decaying, overgrown world-ship called the Vessel, players control MIO, a nimble robot on a mysterious journey through a forgotten, mechanical world. Blending fast-paced modular combat with precise platforming, MIO invites players to glide, wall-cling, and grapple their way through hauntingly beautiful environments as they uncover hidden secrets and confront dangerous foes.

The game is set to launch in 2025 on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch. A 2–3 hour demo is available now on Steam and the Microsoft Store, and the game was also featured in Steam Next Fest (June 9th–16th) and the Tribeca Games Festival (June 11th–15th) as part of their prestigious Official Games Selection.

What We Can Expect

  • Sci-fi Metroidvania Design: Explore a vast, derelict ship using agile traversal mechanics and unlock new areas through modular upgrades and precision platforming.

  • Stylized Art & Sound: Inspired by comics, anime, and surrealist art, the game delivers a bold visual identity paired with an atmospheric lo-fi/choral soundtrack.

  • Evolving Combat: Customize your abilities and face off against over 30 enemy types and 15 unique bosses in fast-paced, tactical encounters.

My Thoughts

MIO: Memories in Orbit immediately caught my eye—the game is absolutely beautiful. As a huge fan of Metroidvanias, this one feels tailor-made for me. The art style transitions effortlessly between edgy, fluid, and comic book-inspired, giving it a look all its own. And the voice of the antagonist in the trailer? Genuinely chilling—in the best way. It’s the kind of performance that makes me want to see the journey through to the end just to take them down. Check out the trailer that we saw at Summer Game Fest below!
