Origament: A Paper Adventure Takes Flight This June on PC & Consoles

The indie studio Space Sauce is riding a wave of excitement. They recently debuted an enchanting new gameplay trailer for their upcoming indie platformer, Origament: A Paper Adventure. Alongside the reveal, they announced that a free demo will be available through a public playtest beginning June 17, 2025, exclusively on Steam.

This family-friendly 3D adventure game puts players in the role of a living letter, lost in a world built entirely out of folded paper. The main character can morph into a variety of origami shapes, each offering unique movement abilities. For instance, you can glide across Venetian rooftops as a paper plane, sail quietly down rivers as a boat, or dash through dense forests in the form of a shuriken.

Origament emphasizes exploration, imagination, and environmental puzzle-solving. Players are encouraged to discover hidden paths, interact with gentle spirits, and adapt to constantly shifting terrain. While the Steam playtest gives an early glimpse into the game’s world, a full release is also planned for consoles, expanding access to a wider player base.

With its soothing atmosphere, inventive mechanics, and standout visual style, Origament: A Paper Adventure is already shaping up to be one of the most captivating indie releases of the year.

What We Can Expect

  • Each level is an adventure, with multiple paths to choose from, characters to meet, puzzles to solve, hidden places to uncover, and secrets tucked away in unexpected corners.
  • Unfold a journey through different eras and worlds.
  • Each origami form brings a new ability, and a fresh twist on gameplay.
  • Origament has a relaxing, meditative atmosphere. Perfect for days when you feel spread paper-thin.

My Thoughts

Origament: A Paper Adventure looks like exactly the kind of peaceful experience I’ve been needing. The world feels serene and meditative, yet the gameplay still looks smooth, imaginative, and fun. Thanks to its origami-based mechanics, it seems both relaxing and engaging which is a rare mix. Lately, I’ve been carrying more stress than usual, and this looks like the kind of gentle escape that could help me reset. I’ve already added Origament to my Must-Play list.
