The Precinct Drops Solo Mode and Style Options in Free Update This Week
UK-based publisher Kwalee and developer Fallen Tree Games have announced a fresh content update for The Precinct, the neon-noir action sandbox game that channels the grit and flash of 1980s East Coast cop dramas. Available later this week, the free update arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
This new update introduces Solo Mode, letting players hit the streets of Averno City without backup for the first time. As Officer Nick Cordell Jr., you’ll patrol, pursue, and take down the city’s criminal underworld on your own terms. Also included is an expanded customization system for both vehicles and characters—offering five new livery options for all six squad cars, along with ten outfits, eight hats, and four types of glasses to personalize your beat cop’s look.
In The Precinct, you’ll take on petty criminals, gang leaders, and everything in between while navigating dynamic day/night cycles and weather systems across Averno’s rain-slicked streets. Whether you’re chasing perps on foot, in a patrol car, or from the sky in a helicopter, the game blends open-world chaos with police sim strategy, complete with support systems like spike strips, squad call-ins, and roadblocks.
The Precinct is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with this content update bringing even more depth and style to your crime-fighting career.

My Thoughts
Zack reviewed The Precinct last month and had glowing things to say, noting, “There is very little negative I can think to say in regards to this title.” That’s high praise, especially coming from a GO Cast reviewer whose gaming tastes often aligns closely with mine. This latest update adds an intriguing new challenge with Solo Mode, stripping away backup and forcing you to face Averno’s chaos alone. The customization options are a fun bonus. Who doesn’t want to patrol the streets in style? I’m looking forward to jumping back in and seeing how these updates shake things up. Check out the trailer below!
