Simcade Racer ‘Formula Legends’ Release Date Announced with New Demo!

Formula Legends, the upcoming open-wheel sim-cade racer from independent developer 3DClouds and self-published by the studio, is racing toward release on September 18th, 2025. Launching on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, the game will be available worldwide for $19.99 USD / £19.99 GBP / €19.99 EUR.

Built by a passionate team of motorsport enthusiasts, Formula Legends blends decades of racing history into a uniquely accessible experience. Tracks, teams, drivers, and vehicles are lovingly inspired by the past seventy years of the sport, presented with arcade-style ease and a range of assists for players of all skill levels.

Despite its approachability, Formula Legends doesn’t skimp on authenticity. Tire wear, fuel consumption, evolving track conditions, damage modeling, and dynamic weather add just the right touch of simulation flair, creating a “sim-cade” blend that’s both customizable and consistently thrilling.

A brand-new demo is available TODAY for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with a Nintendo Switch version arriving August 14th. This updated demo includes new features and community-driven improvements since its Steam Next Fest debut, which saw over 50,000 players jump behind the wheel.

  • Game Modes: Custom Race and Time Attack

My Thoughts

I covered Formula Legends when it was first announced (news article here). I’m just as excited to play it today as I was back in April. I’ll be checking out the new demo this afternoon I will quietly crossing my fingers for a review copy. Racing across different eras, exploring iconic tracks, and tweaking all the customization options sounds like a blast. The bright, Pixar-esque art style only adds to the appeal. With the full release just over a month away, I can finally start counting down the days. Check out the trailer!
