Michael Myers Returns to Haddonfield in Asymmetric Horror Experience ‘Halloween’

IllFonic has revealed Halloween, an asymmetric stealth horror game. It will release in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game is co-published by Gun Interactive, in partnership with Compass International Pictures and Further Front.

Based on John Carpenter’s legendary film, Halloween transforms Haddonfield into a tense, one-versus-many stealth horror experience. Players can take on the role of Michael Myers, cutting power and phone lines while stalking victims. Civilians must warn townsfolk and find ways to call for help before it is too late.

The game includes a single-player story mode, offline play with bots, and online multiplayer. Each mode rewards stealth, strategy, and skill. With carefully recreated maps and a score inspired by the 1978 classic, Halloween aims to immerse fans new and old.

IllFonic CEO Charles Brungardt explained that working with Compass International Pictures and Further Front ensured authenticity to the original film. Malek Akkad, President of Compass International Pictures, said this game finally delivers a definitive digital version of Halloween. Gun Interactive also praised IllFonic’s effort to honor an IP beloved by horror fans worldwide.

What We Can Expect

  • Play as Michael Myers or as Civilians trying to outwit him.

  • Multiple gameplay options: story mode, offline with bots, or online multiplayer.

  • Authentic Haddonfield maps and eerie score inspired by the original film.

  • A suspense-driven stealth horror experience faithful to John Carpenter’s classic.

My Thoughts

Halloween (the film) is a year-round staple in my house, so hearing that IllFonic is bringing it to life as a game immediately had my attention. I’m genuinely excited about this one. The inclusion of a story mode alone makes it a guaranteed purchase for me, and the team’s focus on authenticity to the 1978 classic only adds to that anticipation. Everything about this project feels like it’s honoring the roots of the franchise, and I can’t wait to step into Haddonfield myself.
