Part Terraria, Part Satisfactory, All Craftervania – Kentum Launches This Fall
Kentum, the survival adventure from developer Tlön Industries and publisher V Publishing, is set to launch on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on November 6th, 2025. Blending elements of Terraria and Satisfactory, this “Craftervania” challenges players to survive, build, and thrive in a futuristic dystopia where humanity’s survival depends on the last man alive and his clones.
A brand-new demo is available now, offering a preview of what Kentum has to offer. The demo introduces fully voiced character dialogue, expanded customization options, and even a new boss encounter. Players step into the role of Kent, who wakes up in the year 10,000 to find himself the only employed human left on Earth. Armed with nothing but a stick, quick wit, and his quirky robot companion ORB, Kent must rebuild civilization while fending off the dangers that lurk beyond his base.
The demo also highlights scanning mechanics to catalog flora and fauna for new crafting recipes, as well as survival combat against strange new creatures. Even if Kent falls, players need not fear because recloning ensures the mission continues. With its official release on November 6th, 2025, Kentum invites players to try the demo now and get an early start on humanity’s last stand.
What We Can Expect
- Survive… or Not! You’ll Be Cloned Anyways: Even though Kent will be revived endlessly, that doesn’t change the fact that dying is a major drag. You’ll need to gather and hunt for food, find new recipes, and polish your cooking skills. Building your own farms and vivariums is your ticket to a steady source of nourishment.
- Explore, Scan, and Catalogue: Discover the wonders and the oddities of a vast, ever-changing world filled to the brim with fascinating flora, fauna, and climate events. Classify every animal, plant, and mineral in order to help you survive the passing seasons.
- Craft it to the Limit: Use every material at your disposal to build your base. Start small by turning bone and wood into coal, machine scraps into sheets of metal, and slowly but surely grow your base into a full-blown resource-generating machine that can rival any factory in the world.
- Build the Home Base of Your Dreams: Expand your home base and create an automated system to allow you to streamline and optimize your productions while you are off exploring.
- Traverse Exotic Locales in Style: From vibrant jungles to desolate ruins, traverse post-apocalyptic Earth with your hoverboard, hang glider, grappling hook and more. It is up to you to maneuver with equal parts adventure and efficiency.
My Thoughts
I had an absolute blast with the Kentum demo. Check out my review at this link. The combination of survival mechanics, base building, and quirky humor grabbed me right away and kept me hooked. I loved the banter between Kent and ORB, and the fully voiced dialogue added even more charm to their interactions. Exploring the world, scanning plants and creatures, and unlocking recipes gave me a real sense of discovery. Most importantly, it felt fun from start to finish. If the demo is any indication of what the full release will bring, I am confident that Kentum will be one of my favorite games this year.
