Save the Date: The Indie Horror Showcase Returns on October 23!
Horror Gamers Unite!!
There is no better time to celebrate horror in gaming. The eerie chills, twisted ideas, and boundless creativity of developers who dare to tread the darker paths are once again stepping into the spotlight. The Indie Horror Showcase is officially back in 2025 for its third annual event, premiering on October 23rd at 10 a.m. PDT.
This terrifying tradition comes from the genre specialists at DreadXP, in partnership with The Media Indie Exchange (MIX). The showcase continues to highlight the passion and imagination that keep horror games pushing boundaries. This year, fan-favorite host John Wolfe returns, joined by BigGaming64, a long-time supporter of all things Dread.
Viewers can expect to see games from an impressive lineup of developers and publishers, including Neon Doctrine, Outersloth, Nightdive Studios, Atari, AMC Games, Blumhouse Games, Yacht Club Games, and more. The event is dedicated to shining a light on indie horror projects of all sizes, with every title featured created by human hands and twisted minds with no generative AI involved.
The showcase has grown rapidly over its first two years. In 2024, it featured more than 70 trailers and announcements, drew over 60,000 live viewers, and revealed everything from new games like White Knuckle and Monster DNA to updates on The Thing: Remastered and Bye Sweet Carole. By partnering again with The MIX and exploring additional co-streaming opportunities, DreadXP aims to bring this year’s collection of fresh nightmares to an even wider audience.

My Thoughts
I have goosebumps. Maybe it’s because the leaves are changing and scary movies are filling up my favorite streaming services. Maybe it’s because my favorite horror studio, Blumhouse, will have a presence at this year’s showcase. Or maybe it’s because I played several of the games from last year’s event and absolutely loved them. I cannot wait for Thursday, October 23rd. I am even thinking about blocking my work calendar and taking my lunch break at 1 p.m. Eastern so I can watch the show live. Any other horror fans out there?
Check out the trailer and start getting excited because it is less than a month away. Here are the links to follow.
