Blossom: The Seed of Life – Public Demo Out Now on Steam!

Solo developer Thorin (Pebbledust Games), in collaboration with indie publisher Pretty Soon, has released the public demo of Blossom: The Seed of Life on Steam. The full game is scheduled to launch in Q1 2026.

Blossom: The Seed of Life is a sci-fi survival adventure where players bring a dead planet back to life. You take on the role of a small robot, the last functioning unit from a long-abandoned terraforming project. With only a fragile battery pack, power is your greatest limitation, and failure is inevitable. Yet each time the robot revives with its memory intact, players are left to wonder if it is merely following programming or demonstrating something more—a spark of will and love for life itself.

“The first players I showed the game to said it feels like WALL·E meets The Martian,” said Thorin, developer at Pebbledust Games. “It tells me the game resonates, and I hope Blossom sparks something in players—making them ask questions, open up emotionally, and above all, have fun.”

Jakub Radkowski of Pretty Soon added, “What struck us were the eureka moments—the joy of experimenting and discovering how everything fits together. Thorin has a strong creative vision while remaining open and humble, making him a fantastic solo developer to work with.”

What We Can Expect

  • Terraform a dead planet and watch it bloom with forests and life.
  • Build modular rovers, chain them into convoys, and establish bases.
  • Explore majestic sci-fi landscapes, from abandoned terraforming stations to wrecked ships and orbital platforms.
  • Experience approachable survival mechanics, natural progression, and satisfying discovery moments.

My Thoughts

WALL-E meets The Martian is spot on! I strongly encourage you to check out the trailer. Full disclosure: both WALL-E and The Martian are in my personal top 20 films of all time, so I am naturally intrigued. And I know what you’re thinking: “Marc, didn’t you just say you’ve had enough management sims in 2025?” Yes, I did. But the trailer is making me take that back. I will definitely be trying out Blossom: The Seed of Life.
