Mech Havoc enters the battlefield – Early Access begins October 27

Mech Havoc, developed by solo creator Mid Development and published by Pretty Soon, will launch in Early Access on PC via Steam starting October 27, 2025.

This tactical top-down mech shooter invites players to pilot more than 30 war machines across a variety of dangerous battlefields. With over 100 weapons, branching upgrade paths, and tactical support options like airstrikes and deployable turrets, Mech Havoc promises a fast-paced power fantasy that is both accessible and deeply customizable.

The game’s demo has already impressed the community, earning 98% positive reviews on Steam. Influencer Splattercat summed it up simply: “I Am Super Hyped About This.” Fans have praised the balance of explosive chaos and tactical depth, and a brand-new trailer highlights expanded tech trees, new mechs, and upgraded destruction to celebrate the Early Access announcement.

The October release marks the beginning of open development, with ongoing updates and new features planned as the project grows.

What We Can Expect

  • Solo-dev mech mayhem – pilot 30+ vehicles, from tanks to hulking walkers.
  • Tweak your loadout with 100+ weapons and a flexible upgrade tree.
  • Drop airstrikes, turrets, and more for tactical destruction.
  • Easy to jump in, hard to put down – build your style through smart gear choices.
  • Explore Planet-X’s varied battle zones: forests, frozen wastes, cities, and deserts.

My Thoughts

I love giving independent developers attention especially when the product looks as good as Mech Havoc. I didn’t see a mention of Steam Deck compatibility but this one looks like it would be a blast on the PC screen or on the go. This is the first effort that I’ve seen from Mid Development, indeed it is their premier title, and I hope it’s not the last. I look forward to trying out Mech Havoc and letting you all know that it’s worth a look.
