Hyperkin’s “The Competitor” Available for Pre-Order Today!

Hyperkin, a global leader in video game hardware, has officially opened pre-orders for The Competitor, its upcoming premium controller. Set to begin shipping on October 29, 2025, the device is officially licensed for Xbox and fully compatible with PC. It also supports Game Pass streaming on compatible smart devices, making it a versatile option for gamers across platforms.

Originally unveiled in January 2025, The Competitor introduces a symmetrical thumbstick layout to Xbox players, offering a new ergonomic choice along with a collection of high-end features. Every element of the controller has been designed to enhance comfort, precision, and reliability for serious gamers.

The traditional segmented D-Pad allows for crisp directional input, while cushioned membrane action buttons provide a soft yet responsive touch. The standout feature is the inclusion of twin Hall-Effect thumbsticks, which promise ultra-smooth analog control and eliminate stick drift entirely. Players can choose between dome or concave thumbstick caps, with metal glide rings and anti-friction gates surrounding each stick for an added premium feel.

Even the triggers receive the Hall-Effect treatment for improved accuracy and durability. The textured laser grip ensures steady handling, while programmable back buttons with locking capabilities give gamers added flexibility in competitive play. The Competitor also features ultra-low-latency response, a mic mute function, and a 3.5mm headset jack for seamless voice communication.

According to Slade “Dude” Suzuki, Lead Product Developer at Hyperkin, “This may be our most anticipated product launch of the year. With its state-of-the-art feature set and a laser focus on performance, we believe The Competitor elevates above the competition.”

The Competitor will retail for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99 and is available in White and Black across North America, the UK, Europe, and Australia, with Blue and Gold variants launching in UK/EU/AU regions (North American release TBD).

Pre-orders are live now via Hyperkin’s online store, Amazon, GameStop, and major international retailers.

My Thoughts

I thought we could use some happy news related to the Xbox and Hyperkin delivered with their press release for this pretty amazing looking controller. I have never shied away from using wired controllers and this one looks beautiful, comfortable, and secure in the hands. At a price point that sounds enticing considering the effort into making a quality device, I hope that gamers will purchase one and enjoy it!
