Psychological Horror Game Casting Whispers Now Haunting PC via Steam

Casting Whispers from solo developer Lantern Bay Entertainment is now available on PC via Steam for $14.99 USD / £12.99 GBP / €14.99 EUR. It launches with a limited-time 10% discount.

Set in a crumbling 1960s apartment block in small-town America, Casting Whispers is a first-person psychological horror experience where closing your eyes is often safer than keeping them open. Players step into the role of Victoria, a young lab assistant studying ESP. She arrives searching for her missing mentor but finds an ancient presence haunting the halls.

The game’s signature mechanic encourages players to close their eyes, steady their breathing, and listen carefully. By doing so, they can uncover hidden mechanisms, follow echoes of the past, and detect lurking dangers. Silence becomes both a weapon and a threat, testing how long players can truly bear to listen.

The story takes place in 1961 Corburgh, Connecticut, a decaying city filled with forgotten secrets. Victoria must investigate paranormal events, follow the trail of her missing mentor Professor Henry Zubringer, and face the horrors that dwell within 1195 Norman Ave.

Casting Whispers is available now on Steam, with a free demo for those brave enough to sample its chilling atmosphere.

My Thoughts

You know me. Horror game? Check. Independent solo developer? Check! Let’s celebrate these efforts with some well-earned attention and hopefully inspire a few purchases that encourage other solo devs to chase their own dreams of game creation. Where Casting Whispers really grabs my attention is that this solo developer previously worked on sound design for Horizon Zero Dawn. I can’t wait to grab my headphones and immerse myself in this eerie world of high-caliber sound. Check out the trailer and come along for the ride!
