The Disney Afternoon Collection Returns
Atari and Digital Eclipse have announced that The Disney Afternoon Collection will launch on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 26. This updated collection brings eight Disney-themed classic games to Nintendo consoles for the first time since their original releases. The lineup features two SNES classics, Bonkers and Goof Troop, which return for the first time since their debut. These titles join timeless NES favorites such as DuckTales and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers. Digital pre-orders are available starting today via Atari.com and other major retailers.
The collection includes several modern upgrades to improve the gameplay experience. Players can use a rewind feature to correct mistakes or save their progress at any point. Digital Eclipse historians have curated a virtual museum gallery filled with behind-the-scenes materials and archival content from the Disney vault. A music player is also included, allowing fans to enjoy the original soundtracks from all eight games. For those seeking a challenge, the six NES titles feature online leaderboards with boss rush and time attack speed-running modes. While the digital version arrives in February, physical editions for Switch and Switch 2 are expected to ship in May. These physical copies will include a game cartridge, sticker sheets, postcards, milk caps, and a reversible cover.

My Thoughts
How fun! It is amazing to see so many classics all in one place. This collection is a perfect way to relive the 80s and 90s glory of these Disney licensed platformers. I initially wished Aladdin and The Lion King were included here, but they were not part of the Disney Afternoon lineup. Even without those specific titles, having such a concentrated dose of nostalgia available on the go is a real treat. I am especially looking forward to revisiting these gems and reliving my youth.
