Mina the Hollower is larger than all of the Shovel Knight games combined
Yacht Club Games announced during the latest State of Play that Mina the Hollower will launch in spring 2026. The independent developer and publisher confirmed the top-down action adventure for PlayStation 5. This project is their most ambitious work to date. The world contains more total screens than all of Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove.
Players take control of Mina on a mission to rescue a cursed island. The gameplay features a unique burrowing mechanic to avoid hazards and monsters. You can find over 60 Trinkets and battle more than 25 bosses. A full level-up system and New Game Plus provide deep replayability. The game also includes hundreds of modifiers to customize the experience.
A limited-time demo is available on PlayStation 5 from February 13th to February 27th. This trial features the opening stage and the first major boss fight. Any progress made during the demo will carry over to the full game. Yacht Club Games will announce the final release date once console submissions are finished.

My Thoughts
This game looks incredibly Zelda esque in all the right ways. I absolutely love the 8-bit aesthetic and the atmosphere they have managed to craft. Every level looks impeccably designed, which is exactly what I would expect from this team. The fact that the same developers behind Shovel Knight are at the helm makes me even more interested. They have a proven track record of creating modern classics, so I know Mina the Hollower is in great hands.
