New Story Trailer for ‘007: First Light’ Revealed During Latest State of Play

During the latest Sony State of Play earlier this week, fans of 007: First Light we saw a fresh look at the game’s narrative in the newest story trailer. We dive deeper into Bond’s early days at MI6 and the newly revived 00 Program. The video highlights the instincts judgment, and resourcefulness that will define him even before he becomes the legendary agent we all know.

We’ve Been Expecting You, Mr. Bond

The trailer gives us a glimpse at Bond’s first field assignment. Taking place in Iceland, navigating high-stakes situations with nothing but a brutal cocktail of instinct and improvisation…shaken, not stirred. James Bond (played by Patrick Gibson) faces the structured discipline of the 00 Program under John Greenway. John is Bond’s mentor and former agent whose by-the-book approach often clashes with Bond’s impulsive decisions.

M emerges as a guiding figure, recognizing Bond’s potential while letting him take control of tense situations. Players are also introduced to other key characters. These include familiar faces like Moneypenny and Q. There are new original characters such as Bawma (played by Lenny Kravitz) and Charlotte Roth, the game’s latest femme fatale. Her loyalties remain ambiguous, keeping both Bond and the players on edge.

Rogue Agent

The reemergence of 009, a former British operative turned rogue, marks the first true field test for Bond and the newly revived 00 Section. From the Carpathian Mountains to the black markets of Aleph, Bond’s globetrotting missions push him to balance instinct with protocol. This provides glimpses of the formative moments that will shape 007 into the agent he’s destined to become.

007: First Light is set to launch on May 27th, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox ROG Ally, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Pre-orders are open for Collector’s and Legacy Editions. Players who pre-order will get a free upgrade to the deluxe edition, granting 24-hour early access plus in-game items and outfits.
