Time-Bending Mecha Speedrunner ‘Echobreaker’ Coming to PC in 2026

Publisher Weekend Games and developer Upstream Arcade have announced Echobreaker. This lightning-fast precision speedrunner arrives on PC via Steam in 2026. Players act as combat rig pilots for TDS Industries. Your goal is to complete punishing test courses in record time. These levels take place inside a neon-drenched science facility.

The gameplay emphasizes tight execution and relentless optimization. You will use a Temporal Echo Drive to enter an “Echo State.” This mechanic slows time to help you master difficult landings. You can also navigate risky routes or defeat enemies for explosive speed bursts. The game features 15 unique tracks to master.

What We Can Expect

  • Find your perfect line: Test your reflexes and hone your rig mastery. Fracture and manipulate time itself to boost your top speed.

  • Can you become number one?: Compete against other players on the global leaderboard, show off your badges to friends or simply compete with your ghost as you try to break both personal and world records across each of the 15 tracks.

  • Flow state focus: Step into a sci-fi world drenched in gorgeous neon colour, where every track is something to be solved and mastered.

My Thoughts

This looks like a blast. It should appeal to anyone who thrives on short, punchy levels. Echobreaker seems like the kind of game where I would retry a level dozens of times. I want to shave off every possible fraction of a second.

The tone reminds me of the persistence required in Celeste. However, this swaps the platforming for an isometric sci-fi setting. That loop of rapid resets and optimization is addictive. I can already tell this will test the skills of gamers everywhere.
