New Trailer Drops for Upcoming Slice of Life Record Shop Sim Wax Heads

Patattie Games and publisher Curve Games have released a new trailer for their upcoming cozy-punk record shop simulator titled Wax Heads. The game is scheduled to arrive on PC and consoles (PS5, Xbox) on May 5th, 2026. In this title, players take on the role of a new employee at a legendary record shop called Repeater Records. Throughout the gameplay, you will chat with eccentric customers to recommend the perfect vinyl, manage the store, and engage in various mini-games such as poster design and social media management. As the shop navigates a changing world, you can choose to work hard to keep the business alive or spend your time slacking off with your co-workers.

My Thoughts

If you grew up anywhere near my teenage era, you almost certainly spent time wishing you worked at a record store. If you have seen the movie Empire Records, then you can multiply that desire by ten. Wax Heads looks to be an indie treat that will fulfill those nostalgia-tinted dreams. It mixes a “cozy-punk” aesthetic with the management strategy mechanics we know and love.
