Nova Drift: Ship-Crafting Space Shooter Coming Soon To iOS and Android
Developer Chimeric and collaborator Pixeljam announced a mobile port for Nova Drift. The classic space shooter launches on iOS and Android on March 10th, 2026. This version brings the full PC experience to handheld devices. The game blends arcade combat with action-RPG depth. Players can rapidly evolve their ships in a single session. Nova Drift has remained a staple of the “survivors-like” and roguelike genres since its early development in 2014.
The mobile edition includes a customizable touch-control scheme and full gamepad support. Players can access over 200 modular upgrades to create unique builds. You can lead drone armies or become a high-damage sniper. Every session is randomly generated. This ensures unpredictable battles in both the campaign and endless modes. The mobile release follows a paid premium model. It contains no advertisements or in-app purchases. iPhone users can pre-order the game on the App Store today.

My Thoughts
I do not often find myself playing games on my phone or tablet, but Nova Drift looks like a perfect fit for the platform. They are using all the right keywords to get my attention, specifically “roguelike” and “outer space.” While I am curious to see how the game handles with touch controls, I am already encouraged by the developers’ approach to the mobile market. I never mind a reasonable price point when it comes with the promise of “no ads” and “no in-app purchases.” It is refreshing to see a premium experience coming to mobile without the typical distractions.
