Skyborne Exploration Adventure ATMOSFAR Lifts Off into Steam Early Access in Q2 2026
Developer Apog Labs and publisher Shueisha Games have announced Atmosfar, a skyborne exploration odyssey scheduled to launch into Steam Early Access in Q2 2026. This story-driven survival adventure is set in a vast open world filled with floating islands and mysterious alien creatures. Players take on the role of a pilot on a mission to uncover the fate of humanity’s final outpost. The experience combines aerial exploration with ground-based expeditions, mobile base-building, and resource management. Atmosfar supports 1 to 4 players, allowing you to fly solo or form a squadron in co-op to scavenge resources, upgrade a fleet of flying Wasps, and customize a colossal mobile airbase known as the Cloud Cruiser.
What We Can Expect
- A Sky-High Survival Odyssey: Embark on an adventure across the floating islands of Tycos. You will explore extraordinary alien locations both on foot and from the air. This survival adventure is set entirely among the clouds.
- 1-4 Player Co-op Survival Adventure: You can take to the skies as a solo pilot. Alternatively, you can assemble a squadron with friends in up to 4 player multiplayer co-op.
- Survive Tycos: Discover distinct and diverse biomes across a mysterious alien world while surviving the planet’s range of weather conditions, including turbulent thunderstorms and ferocious sandstorms.
- Voyage Into the Skies Above: Discover distinct and diverse biomes across a mysterious alien world. You must survive the planet’s range of weather conditions, including turbulent thunderstorms and ferocious sandstorms.
- Command the Cloud Cruiser: Operate and maintain your Wasps. These are a fleet of flying vessels that each have their own unique functionality. You can use the Utility Wasp and the heavy-lifting Cargo Wasp to gather resources. Meanwhile, you can cruise the skies with the planet-surveilling Scout or the powerful Fighter.
My Thoughts
The first thing that hits you about Atmosfar is that impressive, AAA-quality polish in the trailer. It looks absolutely massive, and those expansive alien vistas are exactly the kind of thing that makes you want to jump into a cockpit immediately. I have to admit that the sound design is what really sold me. That heavy “BOOOZH” sound effect gets me every single time, especially in a high-stakes sci-fi setting like this. While the survival and base-building elements look deep, the sheer scale of cruising through the clouds in a colossal mobile airbase is a huge draw. You should definitely check out the trailer for yourself to see if those visuals and that incredible sound design hit you the same way!
