Wired Productions Announces Cinematic Horror Adventure Kumarn: The Wandering Spirit for 2027

Wired Productions is heading to Gamescom with a brand-new title joining its publishing lineup. The publisher announced a worldwide partnership with Thailand-based WereBuff Studio for Kumarn: The Wandering Spirit, a cinematic horror adventure steeped in Thai folklore that is slated for release on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2027.

Players will not have to wait long to see it in action, as the game is playable at Gamescom 2026 at the Indie Arena Booth. Furthermore, the adventure blends stealth, environmental puzzles, and tense platforming for fans of the genre popularized by titles like Little Nightmares and Reanimal.

What We Can Expect

  • Nightmares Steeped in Thai Folklore: Encounter terrifying spirits with tragic pasts and supernatural powers that turn centuries of myth into unforgettable horror.

  • Stealth-Focused Survival: You cannot fight what haunts these lands, meaning you must sneak through shadows, distract deadly creatures, and rely entirely on your wits to escape.

  • Environmental Manipulation: Utilize a sacred lamp to manipulate your surroundings, create safe pathways, and hide your presence from hunters.

  • A Companion Journey: Face terrifying horrors alongside your loyal companion Zeb as you search for a place where a wandering spirit can finally find peace.

My Thoughts

They are not joking. If you enjoyed games like Little Nightmares, Inside, or Reanimal, you will definitely want to keep Kumarn: The Wandering Spirit on your radar. The folk-horror aesthetic is simultaneously unnerving and beautiful. Furthermore, the stealth focus combined with trying to help a wandering spirit find peace sounds right up my alley. I am excited to try this one!

Here is the rather impressive trailer. Take a look!
