Mobile Edge Core Gaming Backpack | Review

I would say I am a fairly avid gamer. I also have a job that requires me to be on the move quite often, and I also love to travel. One of the biggest issues that I come across is carrying and storing my gaming items during these periods when I am not at home. I constantly have to choose what I want to bring with me, and that leads to the issue of how to transport whatever I am playing. Well, I think I have finally found a backpack that meets my needs. The Core Gaming Backpack from Mobile Edge is amazing and let’s dive in and see if you should grab one.

Perfect Travel Companion

When I’m not at home I tend to carry a few gaming items with me to keep myself entertained while I have down time. With different backpacks I have had over the years one of the biggest issues I have always had is space issues. I could carry my laptop and maybe a few small items, but not much more. For instance, I might be able to carry my laptop and some other small items I would need while I’m out, but I would have to leave my Switch at home. With the Core backpack I haven’t yet come across that issue. I have been able to carry my laptop, Switch, and, at times, even my NES Classic with plenty of room to spare. So with all that in mind, space is clearly not an issue.

One Tough Cookie

Another big complaint I have with many backpacks is durability and quality control. I have had a wide range of backpacks and cases over the course of my life. Growing up, I always remember having to replace my backpack every school year due to straps wearing out or the bottom tearing. It sounds odd to talk about, but even the zippers seem sturdy and smooth. This backpack has been very resilient so far and I am quite impressed. Working on an ambulance and throwing the backpack around day in and out, I can honestly say it has been put through the ringer. So far I can report it shows almost no signs of wear and still looks almost brand new.

More Features Than You Can Shake a Stick at!

The Core Backpack has many other features people may come to appreciate, as well. For instance, a spot for a rechargeable battery pack that has an external plug for plugging in a cell phone. I like that the front is covered with a velcro surface for attaching patches or other items. The comfort level is also pretty amazing, with decent padding in all the proper areas. Wearing the pack for a long time is not an issue. One more thing is that the amount of pockets is staggering for pens, memory sticks, and chargers. I was amazed at how many I found.

As far as drawbacks, every backpack does have a few. But overall, the Core Backpack only has a few minor ones I could find. The material is comfortable, but think it doesn’t breathe very well when in contact with skin. The backpack only comes in black, which isn’t a problem for me, but some color variance would appeal to a wider audience. I also think a fun addition in the future would be a modular system to allow the interior to be moved around and customized.

If you are in the market for a new gaming backpack, or just a new one in general, I would recommend the Core Gaming Backpack from Mobile Edge. The price point may seem a bit steep at $129.99, but for a durable backpack I think it’s right on the money. The Core Backpack meets every expectation you could want or need. With plenty of space, lots of pockets for storage, and great durability you can’t go wrong with this purchase.
