Sisters Royale Comes to Xbox One on July 10

Shoot-em-up fans rejoice! Switch fans always seem to be drowning in shoot-em-ups, but now Xbox One fans have Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire to look forward to. It’s a bit of spiritual successor to the old Castle of Shikigami shmups, and comes from the developer of those games: Alfa System.

Sisters Royale

The publisher said: “We’re super excited to be working with Alfa System to bring Sisters Royale to a global audience” said Shintaro Kanaoya, Founder of Chorus Worldwide. “The original Castle of Shikigami series is a beloved classic of the genre and having Alfa System come back to make a modern spiritual successor is thrilling. With its tongue-in-cheek storyline, gameplay and production values from a team at the height of their 30 years in the industry, we think Sisters Royale will appeal to shmup fans of all levels, as well manga and anime lovers around the world.”

Our own Chris Behrensmeyer reviewed it earlier this year on Switch, and came away pretty positively. He thought it was well-balanced for newcomers and veterans alike, and was enraptured by its tounge-in-cheek story. Sounds like a worthwhile time for any hungry shmup fans stranded on Xbox. It’s coming July 10th for $13.99.
