R2V2 2020 Officially Cancelled

It was the greatest privilege in the world to bring Rockford its first video game convention last year with the Rock River Valley Video Game Convention. Unfortunately, as you may have already surmised, the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic has ensured that R2V2 for 2020 has been cancelled.

Not to worry, though, as we’re already cooking up big plans for 2021. As much as it saddens us to have our sophomore outing taken away from us, we’re going to take advantage of the extra time to make the next Rockford video game gathering one to remember. The Gaming Outsider is nothing if not persistent, and we will not be beaten down by outside circumstances.

We hope to see all of you next year. The guests are already confirming; Cissy Jones will be returning for certain. Our vendors are just as excited to show off their most prized wares. We’re giddy to meet all of you. R2V2 2021 is something we hold dear to our hearts, and we won’t let you down.

Stay safe,

The Staff of The Gaming Outsider

Scott has been a fan of pushing buttons since he was old enough to climb up to his father’s stereo as a toddler. His first console was the Atari 2600 back in the early 80’s, and his passion for the hobby shines through his excitement and wish to share his experiences with anyone who will listen. Scott began his podcasting career with “The Official Thread Podcast”, which was dedicated to news, impressions, and general topics about the subject of video games. That coupled with over four years of experience with “The Hollywood Outsider Podcast” has given him the reputation of being the “every man”, in that he gets along with almost everyone he interacts and also doesn’t speak down to his audience.

All new to me. Who is Cissy Jones?

  • Scott Clark

Cissy Jones is a voice actress out of Los Angeles (cissyjones.com). She is known most for her role as Delilah in a game called ‘Firewatch’, a performance that one her a BAFTA award the year it came out. She’s been in countless other games as well and is one of the sweetest people you’ll meet. It was a genuine honor to meet and work with her at our first convention, and we can’t wait to have her back.
