Neko Ghost, Jump! | PC Preview

Some of the greatest games I have played have always been old school platformers harkening back to the days of the original NES. There has always been something super fun and entertaining about traversing through each level and challenging yourself. Growing up with these games has always been amazing, but something always seemed to be missing. Well, the developers over at Burgos Games may have cracked into what may have been missing with Neko Ghost, Jump! So let’s jump in and see why this may be an upcoming title for you to check out.

Who’s a Pretty Kitty

Neko Ghost, Jump! is a side-scrolling adventure platformer that at first glance is only 2D in nature. However, you can switch to 3D at any time, similar to Super Paper Mario from the Wii and WiiU. This cool feature allows players to have to solve puzzles and navigate through obstacles in a way that forces them to think outside the box. What’s even more interesting is the main character of the game also has a physical form and ghost form adding a second layer of puzzle solving. With the developers crafting the game in this manner, it adds some many different combinations on how a player moves their character from point A to B.

Those Dirty Dogs

The story does seem a little bland for my taste, but when the game releases I am curious to see how it plays out. You as Nekoman must rescue your bride to be from the clutches of the Space Dog Pirates. The game does have a very cute aesthetic and seems to come together very well visually. The developer team has also placed a humongous amount of vanity items to customize your character. 

So Much To Do

There is honestly a little bit of something for anyone; even speed running elements and leaderboards have been included. There is also a collectible side to the game, with each level having three golden paws to collect. The lead developer/owner of Burgos Game also informed us that they have crafted some very fun boss fights for the end of each area. In addition, 40 levels and 8 different biomes in the game should keep players for a long while.

So if this seems like a game for you keep an eye out, because Neko Ghost, Jump! is scheduled to release this year. It is currently only going to be available on PC, but work is being done to bring the game to Switch and other consoles in the future. So brush up on your platforming skills and get ready, because this game looks like it could be a lot of fun for fans of the genre.
