Another Bar Game | PC Demo Review

Another game about beer, another review. I have had the pleasure of playing two beer games from the very same developer, Arik Games. The first game, called Dude, Where is my Beer? focused primarily on an older man just looking for a pilsner and the adventures he took to find it. Some of these adventures included getting drunk enough to speak French, changing the channel at a sports bar, or even making a baby stop crying. All left me wanting something else. Maybe another game that revolves around beer?

That’s where the second beer game comes in, called Another Bar Game. Quite generic of a name, but I’m honestly surprised no one else has ever thought of that. Another Bar Game is a huge change of pace from the previous. Instead of looking for one specific beer in a town of many bars, you bartend. Your first bar is named rightly so, Another Bar. Frank, the only bartender in town apparently and looks like he’s going for a run, has been bartending for nearly 15 years. This guy will be the man you help sling brews for thirsty customers.

Another Bar Game is not point-and-click like its predecessor Dude, Where is My Beer? and I honestly couldn’t be happier. This time, you have to run around serving different kinds of beer to customers, all while keeping the bar spotless. Each level gets mildly harder, with it constantly adding new things to the challenge. One such challenge was adding new beers to the menu to serve. You can’t have a good clientele without adding more beers to the menu.

Keeping the bar spotless was also a huge challenge. Around the fourth time running the bar, I started to forget about the empty glasses left at tables, and I would lose a star rating if someone sat right in front of it. At one point, the bar was such a huge pigsty, that I had no time to clean it before customers started walking in demanding a drink. Upgrades are available to help run faster, quickly pour beers on taps, and better balance while running with a tray of beers.

Only being able to play the demo, I do really wish I could see how far I could go. However, Another Bar Game has some really good dialogue and fast-paced fun. If you feel like playing a game similar to Overcooked or that classic arcade game Tapped, then sit down for another bout of fun.
